Bio
Sport has always been a central part of my life. Growing up, I participated in a variety of sports, including soccer, volleyball, tennis, badminton, dance, and running, and sport continues to be an important outlet for me today. During my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Windsor, I took courses with Dr. Krista Chandler and Dr. Todd Loughead, where I developed a strong interest in sport and exercise psychology. These experiences inspired me to pursue a master’s degree in the SPPARC Lab.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I experienced some challenges with my mental health and found that sport and exercise were meaningful outlets that supported my well-being. This experience led me to become more serious about running and racing, while also sparking an interest in the powerful role the mind can play in long-distance performance. As someone who continues to participate in both individual and team sports, I am especially interested in how psychological skills training can support mental health, enhance performance, and improve athletes’ experiences across different sport settings.
